DuBois Challenge
W. E. B. Du Bois is an American sociologist, socialist, historian and fighter for the civil rights of the black population, he was the first African American to receive a doctorate. Starting 2021, the goal of the Dubois Visualization Challenge was to celebrate his data visualization legacy by recreating the visualizations showcased at the 1900 Paris Exposition using modern tools. The original works are recognizable, they contrast the lives of white and black Americans of that time, the drawings are hand-drawn, but carefully and accurately.
